Legends is a world-first digital health innovation program exploring how emerging and immersive technologies can address the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) across the Pacific.
The program originated from a DFAT innovationXchange (iXc) hackathon, where cross-sector leaders from health, technology, and development collaborated to prototype new, citizen-centred approaches to behaviour change. I played a key role in evolving this concept into a fully realised, multi-country program.
As Program Lead, I directed the end-to-end delivery of Legends across Fiji and Tonga, overseeing a portfolio of initiatives including Beyond the Stars and Our Special Island. This included leading bilateral engagement between the Australian, Fijian, and Tongan governments to embed the programs within national primary school systems.
I established and secured strategic partnerships with major private sector organisations, including KPMG, Vodafone, and Huawei, enabling in-country delivery through the provision of logistics, hardware, and connectivity infrastructure.
I led a multidisciplinary team spanning technology, health, communications, and operations, with overall accountability for program strategy, stakeholder alignment, delivery execution, and governance. This included oversight of budget, risk management, implementation planning, and evaluation frameworks.
The program achieved formal government adoption, including Memoranda of Understanding with the Ministries of Health and Education in both Fiji and Tonga, and Cabinet-level endorsement by the Fijian Government – representing a first-of-its-kind outcome for my employer, SecondMuse.
